Sub para I(e) added in para 2.31 of FTP regarding Import Policy of Second Hand Goods/used IT assets (Laptops, desktops, monitors, printers) from SEZ to DTA is restricted. It will be “FREE” if,
(a) shifting to only his DTA unit with minimum usage in SEZ is 2 years, goods are not older than 5 years from mfg date.
(b) SEZ closed for re-location in DTA, not older than 5 years from mfg date. However, IT assets which entered SEZ as used/second hand/old, & less than 2 years used in SEZ will not be covered under this facility.
(c) Allowed free only (a) & (b) above, if no exemption availed from any regulatory requirement viz CRO, WPC, RoHS at the time of import of the used IT assets into the SEZ.
CRO (compulsory regn order 2021), WPC (Wireless Planning & co-ordination – Deptt of Telecommunication), RoHS (Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances in electrical, electronic equipment).
