RESTRICTED LICENSE

As per the provisions of Exim Policies, The Central Government, in public interest, regulates the import or export of goods by means of a Negative List. This Negative Lists consist of goods for Export & import which are prohibited or restricted through licensing or otherwise, or canalised. Accordingly, prohibited items in this Negative List of imports are not allowed. Good under restricted category can only be imported or exported by the notified canalising agency or DGFT grants a licence/authorization to eligible company for import/export of any restricted goods.

Any goods which is ‘Restricted’ may be exported or imported only in accordance with an Authorisation / Permission or in accordance with the procedure prescribed in a Notification / Public Notice for specific product issued in this regard.

An online application for grant of an Authorisation for export or import of items restricted category is to be submitted to DGFT, New Delhi.  Export Facilitation Cell, of DGFT approves the application and issues the License. Before giving approval, DGFT seeks comments from the respective Ministries, if required.
