Financial Assistance to setting up of Food Processing Units

Proposals are invited from prospective entrepreneurs for setting up food processing units outside Mega Food Parks and Agro-Processing Clusters.

Under the scheme for the Creation/Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities (CEFPPC) of "PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA"

The last date for submission of applications is 17:00 hrs. on 28th March 2025

• Subsidy Amount: Grants-in-aid will be on eligible project cost Minimum of 35% for General Areas and for Difficult Areas or SC/ST is 50%.  (Maximum 5Cr.)
• Objective:  Creation of Processing and preservation capacities and modernization /expansion of existing food processing units, which will help in increasing the level of processing and value addition and thereby reducing food loss.
• Eligibility:

1. Minimum   Eligible Project Cost should be Rs.3 Cr. for General Area and Rs.1 Cr. for Difficult Area or SC/ST Proposals.
2. Combined Net worth 1.5 times the applied amount and Equal to the applied amount for Difficult Area or SC/ST Proposals.

• Eligible Sectors:

1. Fruits & vegetables processing
2. Milk Processing
3. Meat/ poultry/ fish processing,
4. Ready to Eat/ Ready to Cook Food Products/ Breakfast cereals Snacks/ bakery and other food products including nutritional health foods
5. Grains/ pulses, oil seed milling & processing based on modern technology
6. Modern Rice milling
7. Other Agri Horti products including spices, coconut, soybean,
8. mushroom processing,
9. honey   processing
10. Fruits/ honey-based wines
11. Natural Food flavors, food additives/ food extracts & colors, oleoresins, guar gum, cocoa products
12. Manufacturing jaggery from sugarcane and value-added products from jaggery (as raw material) except sugar mills,
13. Any other sector that makes food products fit for human consumption.
14. Animal feed manufacturing unit(s), already set up or being set up, in Mega Food Parks or Agro-Processing Clusters approved by the Ministry from time to time.
15. Carbonated drinks/ beverages containing fruit juice/ pulp (more than 5% in the case of lime/ lemon and more than 10% in the case of other fruits) will be considered for financial assistance under the Scheme. A maximum of two (2) units in a Mega Food Park (MFP) and one (1) unit in an Agro Processing Cluster (APC) can be sanctioned under this category.

• Application Government Fee: 

Application fee should be Rs.20,000/- and for SC/ST fee shall be Rs.15,000/-

• Eligible Project cost should be:

1. Basic cost of— Plant & machinery.
2. Technical civil work.
3. Utilities essential for the plant such as DG set, Transformer, Boiler, Solid waste treatment plant, ETP, RO, Control panel, weighbridge, forklift, pallets, and solar panel/equipment.
